Dogs and Democracy Picnic

On August 25th from 2-5pm a free democracy celebration “Dogs and Democracy” will take place in O’Hara Township Community Park to ring in the Fall 2024 election season. The event will take place in the larger of the two pavilions, welcoming families and community members from the surrounding area and of course, patriotic puppers of all breeds and sizes.

The event will provide free hot dogs and fixins, soft drinks, and ice cream to attendees while supplies last, and will open with remarks from some of the incumbent politicians representing the region, including U.S. Congressional Representative Chris Deluzio and State Representative Mandy Steele.

Kids can come and play with bubbles, get their faces painted, and run around on the playgrounds at the park. Residents from the region can get to know several of their local elected officials, including school board members and town and borough council members in addition to Congressman Deluzio and Representative Steele. Attendees can also prepare for November by registering to vote, signing up to vote by mail, or by meeting and learning about some of the candidates who will be on the ballot.

This year’s event is a collaboration of the Fox Chapel Democratic Committee, Indiana Township Democratic Committee, O’Hara Township Democratic Committee, and Aspinwall Democratic Committee.
